My Dream Destination: Maldives

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

The current situation we are undergoing has greatly affected our life. The pandemic has made us conscious about how our life was a great opportunity for exploring new things. However, it doesn’t mean that we are stuck at our homes with no sources for discovering. Still it isn’t as fun as going somewhere unknown and losing ourselves in order to explore ourselves i.e. Travelling.

Travelling to me has always been the best way to get in touch with nature and its beauty. Despite being just a 14 year old student, life’s tough! You got to deal with home works, lectures, schools (online classes for now), parents, and your lazy attitude of not doing anything but still wanting to have everything done, so on and so forth. And yes, travelling is the little escape from your daily monotonous life. I believe, Life is a chance of searching for things that help us grow, flourish and prosper. We have to uncover them and get involved. I personally consider travelling to be one of those things for me.

Everyone has a destination where they would like to reach at least once in their life so that they get to experience the glimpses of happy and delightful moments which will remain in their hearts forever. Whenever I think about my “Dream Destination”, the first place that pops on my head is Maldives. The small island in South Asia, surrounded by the Arabian Sea of the Indian Ocean. As I think of it, I start imagining the beautiful water with the sea animals, fresh environment and a heart to heart connection with nature.

Why Maldives when I could choose a place all around the globe like Paris, New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, Tokyo, etc.? Even I was curious about why I put Maldives in the first place, I analyzed about it and have come to the following:

  • My Love for Water

Since I was about 4 years old, I have always loved to be in water. Be it, swimming pools, rivers or even playing with the water taps of the bathroom. I always had this childish desire of being Moana (a sea-loving, strong-willed girl who approaches new experiences and tends to save both her people and the world from a life-killing darkness). Let alone, thinking if I could become a fish or at least get to talk to them. So you see, water always attracts me!

  • My Childhood in Nature

I still cherish the fun times I spent with my friends and family in fun parks, water parks, and forest resorts. Furthermore, I spent most of my childhood in greenery and natural environment. Every Saturday, I would visit “Osho Tapoban International Commune in the forest with a pond though small with lots of colorful fishes swimming” with my parents. This place has my heart and soul. It is a part of the Nagarjun Hills with breathtaking beauty and soul-calming peacefulness. Hence, it also adds up to my dream of going to Maldives.

  • My Birth Month

I was born in the month of March when my favorite festival Holi is celebrated – the festival of colors and water. Adding to that, my Zodiac Sign is Pisces. As much as I have studied about my sign, it is proved that the Pisces Zodiacs are fascinated with water and earthly objects. They have a sense of love and care towards water bodies and animals.

In a nutshell, I am a nature lover who loves being in a space with natural objects rather than a place with buildings, roads, lights and artificial livelihood. Therefore, I consider Maldives to be my Dream Destination. I will make sure to make this trip of mine the most memorable one I’ve ever had. I am likely to go for it while I have ample of time to rejoice every part of this island. Till then, this dream of mine will always be sheltered for the right time and age.
